Meet our Certified Respiratory Educators (CREs)
Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Educator, Certified Tobacco Educator
Diane has worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator for the Lung Health Foundation for more than 20 years. Prior to that, she worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital. Her specific interest is in asthma and COPD management as well as other lung diseases, smoking cessation and air quality.

Sara Han, works as the Lung Health Foundation’s Primary Care Asthma Program (PCAP) provincial coordinator, where she plays a role in implementing an evidence-based asthma and COPD program throughout primary care in Ontario. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE), she has experience working in the hospital and primary care settings in Ontario. She is also a TEACH trained smoking cessation counselor. She has served on the Health Quality Ontario expert panels for COPD and has also facilitated a Delphi panel for the development of National COPD quality indicators

Chris is a Respiratory Therapist and Certified Respiratory Educator at the Lung Health Foundation. Early in his career he worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He then switched his focus to education, and for the last 16 years has developed and provided patient education programs with the Lung Health Foundation. Chris is also a faculty member with the RESPTREC™ program, facilitating Asthma, COPD and Education for Chronic Disease workshops for health-care professionals.
Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Educator
Lana Biro is a Curriculum Developer for the Provider Education Program. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a Certified Respiratory Educator, Lana has a strong interest in promoting respiratory health. She has been involved with numerous lung health advocacy initiatives including Lung Health Information Line, Lung Health Ambassadors and COPD support groups. Lana enjoys facilitating RespTREC® and Motivational Interviewing workshops in Ontario.

Aisha has 10 years of experience working as a respiratory therapist in Ontario and Alberta. She currently works at the Lung Health Foundation as the Primary Care Asthma Program (PCAP) provincial coordinator. She has a strong interest in respiratory health and her interests include smoking cessation, asthma and COPD self-management and health promotion.
B.Sc., Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Educator
Jennifer is a Respiratory Therapist and Certified Respiratory Educator with a background that includes twenty years working in respiratory home care. During this time she had the opportunity to lead healthcare teams and implement many programs and services in the community setting. In 2016, she joined the Lung Health Foundation’s Provider Education Program team as Curriculum Developer and, in 2017, became the Program Manager. She has a strong interest in promoting respiratory health and her interests include patient and provider education, and quality improvement.
