Better Breathing Week is the Lung Health Foundation’s marquee conference, bringing together clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and people with lived experience to drive meaningful change in respiratory care. Held fully in-person this year, this national event unites education, research, and advocacy to tackle the most urgent challenges in lung health.
The 2027 program is built around a central theme: Bridging the Evidence to Practice Gap—positioning the conference as the national forum where research, policy, and innovation translate into real-world action at the point of care.

Call for Abstracts – Now Open!
We invite abstract submissions that showcase programs, research, innovations, and initiatives that translate evidence into practice and drive measurable improvements in lung health. Submissions should demonstrate:
- Practical application in clinical or community settings, particularly in primary care
- Real-world implementation strategies and scalability
- Impact on patient outcomes, health system efficiency, or care delivery
- Contributions to addressing system-level gaps (e.g., access, coordination, delays in care, workforce challenges)
- New or emerging research findings, including evaluation results, with an emphasis on translation to clinical or community practice
We strongly encourage submissions that embed principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly those addressing disparities in lung health, improving equitable access to care, and elevating underrepresented voices, including people with lived experience.

The Social
When will the Social occur this year?
The Better Breathing Week Social will take place on Thursday evening, February 18th, 2027, offering an opportunity to connect and network with colleagues in a lively atmosphere following the first day of programming.
Connect with colleagues, be inspired by powerful stories from leaders and individuals with lived experience, and enjoy a memorable evening of food, drinks, music, and live performances. This is more than just a social – it’s where connection meets purpose.
Why is Better Breathing Week moving to a fully in-person model?
Better Breathing Week is evolving to a fully in-person experience to strengthen connection, collaboration, and applied learning.
This change reflects participant feedback highlighting the value of focused, high-impact engagement, as well as the challenges of stepping away for a longer, multi-day event. In response, the program has been streamlined into a two-day format (Thursday–Friday) to better support attendance and accessibility.
To ensure continued flexibility, all in-person sessions will be recorded and made available for on-demand viewing following the event for those that have registered.
Lung Health Foundation will also continue to offer free, accredited virtual programming year-round for healthcare professionals, enabling ongoing access to high-quality education beyond the conference. You can access updates on all our exciting educational initiatives through our LHF Collaborative Community of Practice.
